How to choose the right picture

Your picture has to be uploaded in .jpg or .tiff format and should provide a resolution of at least 6 megapixels (72 dpi). The size of the file should not exceed 8 megabyte.
The upload of your picture to our server does not take place until you added the article to the cart. Please be patient as the upload might take a few moments.

Image measurements

Photographs usually have a 2:3 or 3:4 format, yet to print on a chair we need a 1:2 proportion. For this reason you’ll probably have to select a certain detail of your picture. Our Chairdesigner will help you figuring out the right detail, but if you don’t like what it proposes you can still relocate your picture manually in the 3D viewer. Enlarging your photos by using the zoom will also make it easier for you to find the right position of your picture.

Please make sure that the important elements of the picture are not too close to the edge of the chair, as the picture might slightly be relocated and cut during the production process. Please also note that the final product might slightly differ from the 3D-preview generated by the Chairdesigner.

If you have difficulties using the Chairdesigner, don’t hesitate to contact us via the contact form on this website or call (+49) 0341 35 587 587.

Motif

Please keep in mind that a chair is no even surface to print on. Especially the bend at the transition of seat squab to back rest may alter your picture. For example if you would like to use a portrait of a person on your chair it might not be wise to print it on the whole chair, but only on the back rest. Another option would be to rather choose a picture where the person is located in the upper half (see the example below). But, just give the Chairdesigner a try and you’ll get to know how to use it in no time.

The production of the chairs requires a lot of traditional handicraft, which is the reason why every single chair is a unique specimen, even if you order several chairs with the same motif.

Infringement of copyright or statutory regulations

You decide which picture you want to be printed on your chair, but please make sure that you infringe neither a third party’s rights, nor any statutory regulations. We cannot examine all of the uploaded pictures in advance for potential infringements of rights. But during the production process and until the end of the statutory deadline, arssedia may deny any order which shows to be under suspicion of infringing copyright or statutory regulations.
